Insight:

Intercontinental Hotel Group is recruiting an experienced Hotel Accounting Analyst at its Gurgaon site. This role provides accounting support and maintains the books of accounts for a group of owned/managed hotels, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, owner reports, cash flow and audit support.

The work includes the execution of all deliverables by SLA and other day-to-day related tasks according to the agreed deadlines. This position will be required to support various accounting, reporting, MIS and process continuous improvement initiatives undertaken from time to time.

The full details of this work are as follows:

What are you going to do:

  • Maintain books of accounts for a group of owned/managed hotels with complete accuracy, including preparation/uploading of journals, GL review, P&L analysis, trend analysis, closing of month-end, cash flow, owner reports, etc.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate backups and resolve all open items in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all accruals/provisions, reclassifications, adjustments are posted in the respective period along with the monthly amortization of prepaid expenses.
  • All deliverables must be completed in accordance with the agreed SLA.
  • Provide full support in handling all queries related to various audits from time to time.
  • Provide support in the preparation of various GIS reports for internal analysis and for review by business teams/owners.
  • Suggest ideas for continuous process improvement in existing processes as well as automation.
  • Regular interaction with other accounting teams across functions.
  • Training documents / SOPs are prepared and updated regularly for each assigned activity.
  • Accurate and correct reporting, reports and data are provided to internal and external clients in a timely manner.
  • Contingency plan during holidays and assistance to other members during holidays – Ensure that all reports and queries are handled in accordance with deadlines.

Qualifications for this position:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or similar, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience with demonstrated skill and understanding in one or more accounting functions related to the position.
  • Effective team player with a positive attitude and proactive approach
  • Demonstrated good analytical skills and intermediate level knowledge of PeopleSoft or other corporate financial systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Demonstrated skills in effective communication
  • Demonstrated skill in recognizing and resolving problems or inconsistencies in transactions and systems
