The 5-star London hotel that offers a £48,000 Queen’s Platinum Jubilee package with a private driver and chef

At a price even the most ardent royalists can scoff at, a 5-star hotel in the heart of London is offering a special Platinum Jubilee package for £24,000 pp. The historic event is just weeks away and hotels are looking to make the most of the rare spike in visitors to London as the celebrations heat up.

Although completely outside any normal person’s price range, Corinthia in Whitehall Place is offering a two-night ‘royal experience’ Jubilee break for a total of £48,000 for two people. In all honesty you get a lot for your money as you would expect for the cost.

The package includes a number of luxury features and goodies that would make even a pampered royal feel. The opulence begins before you even get to the hotel, with people arriving from the airport being transported from the runway to their room in a Rolls Royce Phantom.

For the colossal sum, you benefit for two nights from the royal penthouse suite of the luxury residence, which includes a butler service who will serve you cocktails on the balcony of the room. Of course, the food is of the highest quality, with top British chef Tom Kerridge in charge of the menu, producing sumptuous dishes for dinner alongside Nick Beardshaw of the Great British Menu.

Despite the huge price tag, the hotel says it has attracted interest from people in the United States and the Middle East. Talk to The Sunday Timesa hotel spokesman defended the £48,000 price tag, saying: “If you’ve seen what Tom Kerridge normally charges to come into your house and cook you dinner, that’s a bargain.”
