NEEDHAM, Mass., July 14, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Tripadvisor®, the world’s largest travel advice platform *, today announced that three hotel groups, with a combined portfolio of nearly 500 properties, are among the first hotel chains to connect directly to Tripadvisor Plus, a new subscription annual which provides members with endless travel savings, benefits and VIP services. Tripadvisor Plus members will have access to special room rates and guest benefits, such as welcome gifts, dining and spa credits, and late check-out, when booking at select Barceló, Millennium hotels and Pestana around the world. For participating hotels, Tripadvisor Plus provides access to new customers with high added value to whom they can remarket directly, without any commission.

Today’s announcement represents a major milestone in the evolution of Tripadvisor Plus, which launched to travelers in the United States on June 16. Barceló Hotel Group (BHG), Millennium Hotels and Resorts (MHR) and Pestana Hotel Group are the first hotel chains to connect directly to Tripadvisor Plus at the corporate group level, meaning that accommodations in their portfolios will be automatically listed program, offering rates and benefits for Tripadvisor Plus members.

For all three hotel groups, Tripadvisor Plus offers an innovative new room allocation model. Unlike traditional online travel agents, Tripadvisor does not charge participating hotels any commission per booking (instead of earning revenue from travelers through annual membership fees). Participating hotels are able to reinvest these third-party savings into an enhanced guest experience through member-only room rates and exclusive guest benefits, attracting a highly valued customer segment of Tripadvisor Plus members ready to book.

Participating properties also benefit from enhanced visibility and a special badge on Tripadvisor to attract Tripadvisor Plus members, and gain full access to all guest information on every Tripadvisor Plus booking, allowing hotels to tie in. relationships with these clients after their stay.

More than 60 Travelers’ Choice award-winning properties are among the hotels that will be available for booking on Tripadvisor Plus through these new partnerships. Properties that join Tripadvisor Plus include:
