Several five-star hotels in Hanoi are on a list of places visited by delivery staff at a major food supplier who tested positive for Covid-19.
The city’s Center for Disease Control said 54 places, including supermarkets, convenience stores, hospitals and hotels in the city, were buying beef from Thanh Nga Supply Foods, where at least 49 employees have tested positive.
Its delivery staff visited the location between July 26 and July 30, staying there for 30 minutes to two hours while their goods were checked, he said.
He urged people who have visited these places in the past two weeks to immediately contact the medical centers.
The list includes four Pullman Hanoi, Daewoo Hanoi, Lotte and Novotel Duy Tan hotels, all located in the city center.
On Tuesday, a Pullman kitchen worker who had been in close contact with a beef delivery boy tested positive.
A source from Daewoo said that following the city’s Covid-19 social distancing order, the hotel has stopped receiving new customers since July 28 after hosting MPs from the session of the National Assembly. Its bakery, apartment and office sectors are still in business with pandemic prevention measures.
Hanoi recorded 1,668 local cases during the fourth wave of Covid which began in late April, with a number of new clusters detected last week.
