Have you ever heard that how you say something is even more important than what you say? In a world where we are inundated with marketing messages, it takes a certain something to stand out.

Meet To hire.

Engagify specializes in improving team engagement and customer-facing events.

Businesses have become more tech-oriented, but a common hurdle is the need to create meaningful interactions with customers. The problem is, the average person hasn’t learned how to engage and grab a prospect’s attention.

Engagify helps businesses deepen connection and gain attention.

What the company does

Anders Boulanger, Founder and CEO of Engagify, explained how Engagify took its roots and evolved.

“We use our skills to train others to be more engaging,” Boulanger said. “And that’s what’s most lacking in business these days – there are so many solutions in technology that we’re kind of out of touch with how we deliver this information. “

Engagify is passionate about building human relationships and teaching the principles of competence to others. You will learn how to use the tools necessary to attract attention.

If you’ve ever been on a boring zoom call, you suddenly realize how easy it is to disconnect from the presenter’s message. In the year since the start of the pandemic, Engagify has trained sales teams around the world to create a more virtual engagement.

“You only remember 10% of a presentation 2 days later. It is therefore imperative that we have an impact on our interactions, especially when these interactions are customer-oriented, ”explains Boulanger.

The company trains teams through live virtual training, on-demand courses and engagement coaching sessions.

Business niche

Engagify has started sending its professionally trained staff – infotainers – to trade shows. These Infotainers have been hired by clients to present entertaining content that communicates messages to the company that hired them.

Engagify Infotainers developed stunning demos that attracted people to the booth and increased leads.

“Businesses have seen a 54% increase in lead generation from trade shows,” Boulanger said. “Our staff members acted as an extension of the marketing arm of the business and dramatically increased the return on investment they received from the show. “

“We work with all types of businesses, from start-ups to billion dollar companies,” Boulanger said. “Businesses must win the war with their eyes, and our Infotainers know how to grab attention and get people to listen. “

How the business started

Boulanger could not have known that he was starting his business at the age of five. It was then that he became a magician and began to do magic shows. At 12, he was performing at birthday parties. He paid for his college education by working at fairs and festivals, honing his showmanship.

He found a way to turn his longtime passion into a business model.

“I put on a suit and became a business,” Boulanger said. “I took what I had learned by doing magic, added a personalized marketing message, and turned it into info-taining.”

“Our Infotainers travel the world creating value for our customers at their trade show booths. “Last year, no one traveled. “We turned the skills we honed in the trade show into training. Salespeople, systems engineers, and product marketers have learned from your content so they can put their company’s products in the spotlight.

Biggest victory

Engagify has been helping customers for decades, and Boulanger said Engagify’s most important victory was to make Microsoft Azure a customer.

While most of Engagify’s clients are in the tech industry, during the pandemic they grew up working with hotel chains such as Marriott’s W brand and coached the start-up sales team. -up fastest growing in Canada.

The biggest challenge

Then came the pandemic, and like the worst magic trick you can imagine: Pouf! The salons have disappeared.

“We were flying on all cylinders,” Boulanger said. “But when the first shows started to be canceled in March 2019, I knew we had to reinvent our business model.”

Lesson learned

Boulanger said small business owners are often not good at recognizing the skills they have developed while running their business.

“You are good at some things, and some things that you don’t even realize you’re good at,” Boulanger said. “I specialized in participation in a show, presentation, performance and engagement. “

He realized that having the ability to present gave him an opportunity.

“Okay, I can teach that,” he said. “Let me take a step back and understand what this looks like. “

In June 2019, Boulanger had changed its business model to adapt to changing times.

“Teaching people how to get involved has been the change that makes sense,” he said. “We can serve more people in new and better ways. “

Engagify would remain ready to provide real information to companies at trade shows. And the company would expand to provide training for company employees, teaching them the skills necessary for infotainment.

What does Engagify do at a trade show?

“The typical trade show I would be hired or one of my certified infotainers would be hired for a booth,” Boulanger explained. “We would have a PA system on stage, and then we would start a presentation that would have mathematics of magical mentalism, martial arts demonstrations, interesting things that people want to watch and see what it’s all about.”

“And while we’re doing that, we’re incorporating the corporate message,” he said. “And so the demonstrations we do are kind of very memorable experiences for people, which in turn makes the message memorable.”

Engagify infotainers typically do five shows per day during the show’s busiest five hours. And they do it every day. Lead generation metrics show a 54% increase.

Secret weapon

As Engagify grew, Boulanger leaned on Zoho. He subscribes to Zoho One, which means he has a platform of business tools for all areas of business, from sales and marketing to finance and human resources. And he particularly appreciates Zoho Expense.

Her favorite feature of Zoho Expense is the ability to take a photo of a receipt and grab it instantly. He also likes Zoho Expense’s ability to operate with different exchange rates – Engagify is based in Canada but does most of its business in the United States.

“It’s such a great value,” Boulanger said of Zoho. “Zoho Expense makes it easy to reimburse purchases or track spending on sales trips. “

“Zoho Expense is another way Zoho can help me and keep my business on track,” he added. “Zoho provides great analytics – I can see it all.”

“Of all the providers and subscriptions available, Zoho is the most useful,” he said. “They are constantly involved in research and development.

Zoho also allows customers to adjust their subscriptions according to their needs. Boulanger said it’s easy to make changes.

“Having a business that fully supports you is powerful,” Boulanger said of Zoho. “They are true to their word.”

Future plans

Engagify will continue its flagship offering, Infotaining. It will also provide in-person, virtual and on-demand training for infotainment. Customers can choose from these offers through an engagement suite.

“We will be strengthening our sales team as we have built an engagement training suite including virtual in-person coaching or on-demand learning (work at your own pace),” Boulanger said. “And now that trade shows are picking up, we’re going back to our flagship offering, infotainment. “

“At the same time, we’ll help these businesses tap into those connections and turn them into conversions through our engagement training,” he added. “This will help improve the effectiveness of their sale.”

“We’re going to have someone on the engagement product line, who will sell full time, and then we’ll come back to our trade shows as well,” Boulanger said. “So we’re going to shoot all the cylinders, which will be a good thing – engagement is at the heart of functionality. “
