How the business started

Boulanger could not have known that he was starting his business at the age of five. It was then that he became a magician and began to do magic shows. At 12, he was performing at birthday parties. He paid for his college education by working at fairs and festivals, honing his showmanship.

He found a way to turn his longtime passion into a business model.

“I put on a suit and became a business,” Boulanger said. “I took what I had learned by doing magic, added a personalized marketing message, and turned it into info-taining.”

Biggest victory

Engagify has been helping customers for decades, and Boulanger said Engagify’s most important victory was to make Microsoft Azure a customer.

Boulanger said small business owners are often not good at recognizing the skills they have developed while running their business.

He realized that having the ability to present gave him an opportunity.

In June 2019, Boulanger had changed its business model to adapt to changing times.

“Teaching people how to get involved has been the change that makes sense,” he said. “We can serve more people in new and better ways. “

Engagify would remain ready to provide real information to companies at trade shows. And the company would expand to provide training for company employees, teaching them the skills necessary for infotainment.

What does Engagify do at a trade show?

“The typical trade show I would be hired or one of my certified infotainers would be hired for a booth,” Boulanger explained. “We would have a PA system on stage, and then we would start a presentation that would have mathematics of magical mentalism, martial arts demonstrations, interesting things that people want to watch and see what it’s all about.”

“And while we’re doing that, we’re incorporating the corporate message,” he said. “And so the demonstrations we do are kind of very memorable experiences for people, which in turn makes the message memorable.”

Future plans

Engagify will continue its flagship offering, Infotaining. It will also provide in-person, virtual and on-demand training for infotainment. Customers can choose from these offers through an engagement suite.

“We will be strengthening our sales team as we have built an engagement training suite including virtual in-person coaching or on-demand learning (work at your own pace),” Boulanger said. “And now that trade shows are picking up, we’re going back to our flagship offering, infotainment. “
