Airbnb launches carsharing in Ontario and you could earn $ 750 per month
A new type of Airbnb has been launched in Ontario that could give car rental companies good value for their money. The app is called RideAlike and is described as a “premium car sharing center” where Ontarians can trade, rent and share their cars.
If you’ve always wanted to take a ride in a flashy convertible or are looking for a way to offset the cost of Ontario’s crazy auto insurance premiums, this app could be your solution.
The app works just like Airbnb, where hosts can post their listings and guests can browse and book them through the platform. Hosts can also set their own rules, rates, and availability.

Here’s how much money you need to live on your own in 4 of Canada’s biggest cities
There is no membership fee to sign up, and your reservation includes plenty of safety features to make sure your ride is going smoothly, including insurance, 24-hour roadside assistance, drop-off locations. Convenient pickup and drop-off, fully digital interactions, professionally sanitized, verified hosts, and access to RideAlike support.
As for its side scuffing potential, you could make some serious money. RideAlike told Curiocity that hosts can earn up to $ 750 per month just by renting their vehicles. If you don’t go to the office anymore, you can really put your car to good use.
What makes it truly unique is the swap feature. You can trade in your city sedan for a motorhome, a Tesla for a Benz, the possibilities are endless. There’s even a website that lets you exchange homes with people in Canada and around the world for just $ 11 per month. Looks like swap could be the future of rentals!
