Airbnb house ‘Black Beauty’ is one of the coolest in Texas
A unique vacation rental in the Austin suburb of Leander is one of the coolest Airbnbs in the country – at least according to Conde Nast Traveler.
The Geodome, nicknamed “Black Beauty,” sits near Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country and consists of four levels of glorious architecture with stunning views all around. While it may look like a chic version of Darth Vader’s Death Star on the outside, the inside screams sophistication.
But it will cost a pretty dime – $ 670 a night. It can accommodate up to 14 guests.
“As kitsch as the 1970s kit exterior might seem, this five-bedroom geodome is packed with modern amenities like soaking tubs and high-end fixtures,” boasts Conde Nast Traveler.
“Mid-century modern furnishings and a clever art collection add the perfect finishing touch, while the wrap-around deck and observation library tower capture 360 degrees of the surrounding treetops and beautiful Lake Travis. ”
The features of the relaxation home include, as listed on Airbnb:
There are also a few little surprises.
“All over the house there are fun-designed Easter eggs that will make you smile and make a great IG message,” the listing reads.
The house has a 4.85 rating on Airbnb along with some pretty impressive reviews left by guests.
“We had an excellent stay in this beautiful property with unique decoration! Said a guest. “The photos and description are correct. Each floor is unique and fun to visit. We had 10 people over Thanksgiving weekend and it was perfect. The observation deck offers a breathtaking 360 degree view! ”
“Exceptional!!” another springs up. “We had a wonderful time for my husband’s 30th birthday! Fit 10 comfortably. All the furniture is so comfortable! The decor is so pretty and trendy, made for great photos.
“The Dome House is a really cool getaway and has a lot of little touches that make it unique,” noted another.
The vacation home is no stranger to media attention and is often touted as “one of a kind” in terms of short term vacation rentals.
The house is among the most interesting Airbnbs in Texas, although it is a bit new to the “cool” table. Others include a mining ruined loft house in Terlingua, a treehouse in Dallas, a small cabin in Dripping Springs, and many more according to Trips Discover.
